BIBLE STUDIES:

For the past six weeks or so we were asked to hold weekly Bible studies to stand in the gap for the Encounter Meetings. The initial plan was for us to alternate between Bible studies in our home and Encounter meetings every other Thursday. However due to unforeseen events the Encounter Meeting had to be put on hold for some time.We are happy to say that the Encounter meetings have now been continued, although there will be a period of summer holiday where they will again be put on hold. We will however aim  to carry on with weekly Bible studies in our home for whoever is available. We have had full house, and one time only one person attended. But we have determined to carry on  as we look to the Lord to bring whomsoever He will.

We also started regular Bible study classes in a cafe on the walking street. This is to make the studies available for those who are not able to come out to our place on a Thursday night after work. At these meetings we emphasize discipleship training material and focus on learning how to reach the not yet reached.

LEADERSHIP MEETING:

We attended yet another leadership meeting. We had a wonderful time of fellowship. Before the meeting was over we had a time of worship and the lead pastor shared the future direction of the church.

Philip was asked to be in charge of  the barbecue

STREET OUTREACH:
.

We have had some exciting days of doing street outreach. This month 7 souls were led to the Lord via our efforts.
Last time we went out we met a young woman from Ukraine who received the Lord with us. She speaks fluently English and when we told her about out ministry to the Ukrainians and our need for a translator she said that she would love to help. We are very excited about this!

THE UKRAINIAN MINISTRY:

THE VINEYARD CHURCH:
\
We are having communion regularly and Philip is frequently asked to help serve at this occasion!

Here Philip was asked to share his personal testimony. Time was limited so it was only possible to touch on a fraction of some of  the wonderful and amazing things the Lord has done for us over the many years of us living on mission for Jesus!

One of the highlights of the church this month was that three people requested to be baptized testifying of their surrender life.

Another highlight for the church this month was prayer. A prayer-room was set up and everyone was invited to book time in the prayer room. I was asked on a different day to also share my testimony but to mainly emphasize the importance of prayer.

Philip is also regularly asked to help man the bar selling juice and soft drinks. And ensure that the lunch is being paid for as well

Sunday lunches at the church is a wonderful time for us to bond. It makes it easy for us to gather over a meal without having to do all the hosting at home. It has been a big blessing to us and has helped us get to know our church family much better.

THE PRAYER ROOM:

Here we are in the prayer room that was set up at the church. We are so thankful that we took advantage of it and didn’t settle for just praying privately at home!

THE ENCOUNTER:

At the Encounter the prayer theme was continued. We spent time hearing from the Lord and received some beautiful words of direction and encouragement for the ministry in Vollmose, which mainly consists of reaching out to non-Christians.
We had an end-of the season meeting. The Encounter will be closed for the summer holidays as the summer is quite short here and most people like to travel and take advantage of the warm weather while it last.
We may however continue to host weekly Bible studies for those that are available and would like to attend.

CONCERT:

We attended a beautiful concert (free of charge). It was the graduation concert of one of our precious church family member. She played the cello and it was like transporting us into another realm. She is Finish and her husband is from Sweden. They have since left Denmark to return to Finland, but are now receiving our daily devotional! Since coming to here we have added at least 10 people, which we are very thankful for. This is however only the beginning of much more to come. Praise the Lord!

PERSONAL:

Being able to travel all over Fyn, the island we stay on, without extra expense (as our pensioners bus card covers all) we have decided to visit all the different major city (which comparatively speaking are small) . Here we visited Nyborg and the bridge in the background is the 2nd largest in the world!

With much love,

Rita and Philip!
