Dear Ones,
We wish each of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023! Thank you so
much for your partnership, friendship, and support throughout the year
that passed. We could have never accomplished the mission we have been
on on our own! Undeniably we’ve come a long way since our meager
beginnings, and yet we feel that all of this has just been preparation
time for much greater things to come. We’ve brought in a harvest, but
there is so much more to come. So as we keep our hands on the plough, we
are determined not to look back, and to keep running the race looking
unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith! With God before us what
can stand against us! We are victorious in Him. Thank you for all your
prayers that have been offered up on our behalf and that of the
ministry.
GRACELIFE:
In the photo above and below: Phillip and I teaching and ministering in
Gracelife Sir Lowry’s Pass. Above I, Rita, am teaching on YOU being the
master builder of your house/life. (Matthew 7: 24-28).
GRACELIFE DECEMBER 11TH:
On December the 11th, rather than having regular Kids’ Church, we
arranged several fun relay games with the kids. We ended the day with
each child decorating his/her own cupcake, but not until after a cupcake
decoration competition between Emily and JB. The children gather around
whom they judged to be the winner and JB won according to the kids. We
all had a lot of fun!
GRACELIFE DECEMBER 18TH:
On the 18th of December the children put on the Chrismas story play for
everyone. Several of us had prepared costumes for them, and although
they had not practiced in advance, they all did very well and received
big applause. They day ended with a nice barbecue for everyone and ice
cream for desert!
SUPPLIES FOR OUR EVENT ON THE 18TH:
We bought boxes of ice-cream, charcoal, rice, etc, etc, and several
packages of adult nappies for a lady that recently suffered a
stroke.Adult nappies cost about R 10 a piece and it has been a struggle
for the family to afford them. Thanks to you and your support we have
been able to also stand in the gap with this need and help make the
holiday season more joyous for this dear one.—The supplies below are for
the cupcakes (over 50) which Sophia helped us bake! We couldn’t have
done it without our amazing team!
There were 4 boxes of quarter leg chicken, vegetables, rice, etc. as well! Thank you everyone! :)
GRACELIFE DECEMBER 25TH:
On the 25th of December we listened to an amzing Christmas message by our lead pastor Shayne. (Seen on the TV screen).
The children received a surprise party –pack each. We had also bought
chocolate cake which was served after we all sang Happy Birthday to
Jesus. On the way out apples were distributed to everyone as well.
We thank the Lord for a fun-filled month with many celebrations in honor
of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. We are also very thankful for the
freedom to celebrate the season together!
SUPPLIES:
We collected and distributed 100 liters of milk, and collected food from
Woolworth for the main kitchen in Sir Lowry’s Pass once a week. While
in the yard we sort the food in 7 categories, weigh it, and package it
into boxes for delivery. We are very thankful for the help received from
Woolworths/FoodShare!
FOOD HAMPERS AND VOUCHERS:
This year we felt led to concentrate more on the especially needy
families and to make a bigger difference for them during the
Christmas/New Year season. We put together several food hampers and
bought vouchers to the value of R 500 a piece. Whoever attended the
Gracelife service on the 18th all received a warm delicious Christmas
meal. We are so thankful to you, our partners and for the difference we
are making together! Thank you everyone!
ANGELS' KITCHEN SIR LOWRY'S PASS:
Seen here are some of the many supplies brought to Angels’ Kitchen in
Sir Lowry’s Pass. Additional supplies such as fruit and veggies,
staples, and bread/pizza bases, are being brought every Thursday and
Friday.
We are very thankful for S.A. Harvester who has strengthened our effort
immensely in now supplying for our work on a weekly basis. Philip and I
collect from them in Cape Town, and then deliver to Gordon’s Bay’s Lions
for the projects in that area after which we make deliveries in Sir
Lowry’s Pass and Nomzamo!
Seen here are some of the “angels” eagerly anticipating their meal from
Angels’ kitchen and below some ladies from the kitchen busily at work
making some of the needed preparations!
BREAD AND PIZZA BASES:
We are extremely thankful for the big difference it is making to the
people to receive bread and pizza bases on a regular basis. We are often
told by people who run the kitchens that people have come during the
week asking for pizza bases and some come early on a Friday morning,
knowing that we will be coming to their kitchen for sure that day. We
often also collect on a Monday and/or a Wednesday as well, but usually
always on a Friday.
One of our deliveries to the Angels’ Kitchen in Sir Lowry’s Pass. We
deliver to at least 10 different places altogether, but not always the
same day as different factors play in..amount received, etc.

Some fresh produce from S.A. Harvester being delivered to Joyce’s soup
kitchen. Below is seen one of the many pizza base deliveries also at
Joyce's Soup Kitcehn. This has especially been helpful during the
holiday season when they aim to hand out food parcels and give the staff
an easier workload by not having to cook hot meals.
LIONS' CLUB:
As members of the Lions’ Club we seek to give a helping hand when and
where possible. Here we helped prepare party-packs (in lunch boxes) for
the children in Temperance Town, and we helped prepare 150 hot dogs to
be handed out there as well.
Besides that gift packs were prepared for 30-40 elderly in a senior
home and a team went to serve high tea and provide entertainment for
them as well.
PARTY PACKS:
In response to our Christmas appeal one of our friends and her team
helped us by providing and distributing party packs for the children
from the Angels’ Kitchen. As we should have expected many more turned up
than expected, so next year we hope to come fully prepared to not leave
anyone disappointed. We thank our dear friend all of you for helping us
to make this season very festive.
On the last day with our Nomzamo LifeGroup we left them with a cake to
enjoy together! Here they are also showing their Bibles which they have
been faithfully using since the day they received them. They are all
getting better and faster at looking up Scriptures during our study
times! :)
In closing we want to wish you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013! We look
forward to our continued partnership and to the great things the Lord
has in store for all of us.
We send love, prayers and much appreciation to you and your families,
Philip and Rita
