Hi everyone,
We are so thankful for all that the Lord, through us as a team, is
accomplishing. One of the highlights this month is that we started
reaching out to the Nomzamo community more regularly and intentionally.
We have been ministering outside the Bright Stars kitchen each time, in
hopes that we will meet the same people over and over and so be able to
minister more regularly. We also pray about a topic to briefly address
with them and prepare a tract on the same subject to leave with them
before we leave. That way they will be able to go over what was shared
and meditate on it. Our aim is the sow as many seeds as possible and we
trust that the Lord will eventually provide a place for us to hold
meetings and start minister t them to a better life through a
relationship with Jesus.
REACHING OUT IN NOMZAMO:
This woman had a stroke that affected her left side and made it difficult
if not impossible for her to move her leg and arm on that side. But after
Philip prayed for her she was able to lift her leg and bend her knee. She
was not ready to stand up but admitted that there was a definite
improvement.
Seen below is the staff of The Bright Stars ECD and soup kitchen. We are
now meeting with them early in the morning (around 7 am) on a
weekly basis for Word and prayer before the day.
SUPPLIES FOR NOMZAMO:
We THANK Helping Hand, Lions’ Club (GB), our anonymous donors,
and all of you, our partners. Together we are the backbone of this
kitchen, and enable them to keep going.
SPECIAL BLESSINGS:
We received a very welcome contribution to our feeding schemes via an
anonymous donor—via the Lions’ Club (GB). From that, we were able to
distribute 130 kg Millie Meal, 80 kg rice, boxes of formula, several
packs of nappies, etc. These items were donated to the three kitchens we
are presently supporting—(2 in Sir Lowry’s Pass and one in Nomzamo), and
to various daycare centers with little ones needing nappies.
The formula was donated to the local clinic. They have a feeding program
for babies, but one of the criteria for qualifying is that the baby must
be underweight. They asked permission to use the formula for the many
that need help but don't qualify to get put on the program-to which we
happily agreed. And the formula was donated to the local clinic. They

The nappies and some Millie Meal were distributed to various ECD
centers in Sir Lowry’s Pass.
We THANK the generous donor who provided all these items! THANK YOU!
BREAD, PIZZA BASES, ETC:
We want to THANK the Lions for their continued support of bread, pizza bases,
etc. The many people on the receiving end have come to look forward to
this steady supply, and the kitchens, ECDs (Early Childhood
Development Centers on it to enable them to help those they are
ministering to. —Here, at the Angels’ Kitchen, we also delivered 3 bags
of soup bones.

JOYCE'S SOUP KITCHEN:
Here Cathleen, who is in charge of the HIV/AIDS support group project
based out of Joyce’s kitchen, is seen receiving some supplies. On a
different day, they also received several kg of Millie Meal which was
packaged for the families to take home to cook (along with other food
supplies), and several kg of rice which is
used/will be used for the hot meals served twice weekly. We again thank
ALL of our donors and partners. Thank you!
SUPPLIES:
See here are some of the supplies that were purchased for
the 3 soup kitchens and the Food Bank in Sir Lowry’s Pass. Besides this,
we also bought several kilos of chicken soup packs as well as chicken
chunks.
ANGELS' KITCHEN, SIR LOWRY'S PASS:
This kitchen is located in Sir Lowry’s Pass and is mainly geared for the
neighborhood children. They feed approximately 60 children on a daily
basis.--We also hold weekly Bible studies at their home.
On a different day Millie Meal, rice, bread, Zee-paste (a nutritious
peanut-butter in small individual packages, which, when available either
gets handed out with the bread or used to sweeten the Millie Meal.
Here are some of the happy expectant children queuing outside the kitchen
in happy expectation.
THE FOOD BANK-SIR LOWRY'S PASS:
We long back started a food bank in Sir Lowry’s Pass. People would
regularly approach us for money to buy food, especially after the middle
of the month towards the end. This gave birth to the Food Bank project.
When people approach us we now refer them to the Food Bank. The people
who help us sun it, in turn, keep a record of who comes, and what they
were given in order to distribute the items fairly. They are a big help
to us and much appreciated.
MILK:
This month we again collected 100 liters of milk from Cape Town. It was
distributed in Sir Lowry’s Pass and Nomzamo. A sack like the one seen
here contains 20 liters. This is at Sunshine Kid in Sir Lowry’s Pass!
GRACELIFE:
Here Philip is seen teaching on the topic of “Adam and Jesus”.
Below: We have some diligent students taking notes to be able to “keep
all these sayings in their hearts”.
KIDS' CHURCH:
Here we had quickly cross over the Red Sea when it opened in order to not
be caught in it...either jumping, twirling, crawling, etc. We are
presently following a very inspiring curriculum that includes games, art
projects, videos, storytime, etc. It is lots of fun and the children are
enjoying themselves.
TESTIMONIES:
Above: In this Life-Group meeting we had four healing: A lower back pain–
gone, a sore knee healed, a sore shoulder restricting the movement of the
arm, and heart pains were all healed, We saw everyone later during
the week and all testified that they were well and no symptoms had
returned. Praise the Lord.
Bottom: This month I, Rita, was on an 8 days mission trip with the Charis
Bible college I presently attend. I am doing the second year and will be
graduating end of October/beginning of September (the date is still to be
set. We did a lot of street witnessing reaching out to people from all
walks of life. We also put on a Kids’ program in a community hall with
songs, games, skits, and Word. Seen behind us in the photo here is a
stage being set up for our outdoor crusade. We sang, testified, and gave
a gospel message from the stage while everyone else ministered to the
people that gathered.
We are also happy to say that Philip and I are attending the
‘School of the Believers” 12 weeks outreach program with our church
(Gracelife). We are very happy to be part of a church that is very
outward-focused encouraging, leading, training, and equipping those who
heed the call, to reach out.
In closing, we THANK ALL OF YOU who are helping to make our ministry
possible.
Love, prayers, and blessings from us to you!
Philip and Rita
