Dear Ones,
We hope you have had a very good start on the New Year and are
staying healthy in spite of Covid. We are praying for you. We have
very good news as we this month prayed for several friends that had
contracted the virus and were healed. Others had symptoms, but
after praying against it the tests were negative and they are now
doing well again. Praise the Lord! We have also been praying for
people around the world such as France, Canada, USA, etc. Meanwhile
we are continuing to minister to the needy here in many ways:
spiritually through sending out the Word and personal counseling,
and as you will see a glimpse of on the following pages, physically
also. We thank you for partnering with us and making the ministry
possible. We would like to share the following verse for your
encouragement: 2Cor. 9:8, 9 “And God is able to make all grace
abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all
things, may abound unto every good work! 9) As it is written, he
hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness
remainth for ever.”
BRAND NEW FLIP FLOPS:
This month, thanks to the generous contribution of Lion’s
Club Gordon’s Bay, two large boxes of brand new flip plops were
distributed among some of the neediest people of the Sir Lowry’s
Pass village. We thank our local team who we rely upon a lot to help
us administer wisely!
JOYCE'S SOUP KITCHEN SIR LOWRY'S PASS:
We want to thank our very generous partners who a short while back
enabled us to provide a much needed very large pot for Joyce’s Soup
Kitchen, the largest in the village. As seen here it is a very big
blessing and is being put to good use. The staff greatly appreciate
the tremendous way it has eased their job of seeking to feed a
seemingly ever increasing flow of people!
At this time approximately 40 sacks of bread and pizza bases were
delivered to Joyce’s soup kitchen in Sir Lowry’s Pass!
WOOLWORTHS:
We thank the Lord for the network of people and businesses He has
established in assisting us in reaching out to the needy. Here yet
another much appreciated contribution from Woolies!
BREAD AND PIZZA BASES:
This month alone somewhere between 3-400 sacks of a variety of
sliced bread, pizza bases, rotis, croutons, cereal, Nan, etc were
distributed. A BIG THANK YOU to Lion’s and other donors for making
this possible and thereby meeting a tremendous need and encouraging
many!
KIDS SOUP HOUSES:
100 LITERS OF MILK:
Again this month 100 liters of milk was distributed between Nomzamo
and Sir Lowry’s Pass!
SPECIAL TREATS:
We thank our donors who provided a large box of delicious ginger
bread cookies which were all distributed to the eager
children of the village.
EXTRA SUPPLIES:
Sir Lowry’s Pass went through a rough month due to Covid. Many were
sick and some even lost their lives. We aimed to especially assist
the sick and food vouchers were distributed. Emily helped shop for
those that were not able to leave their homes and had no one else!
Emily’s Play School was also blessed with a fully functioning
fridge/freezer. Praise the Lord!
This month, due to extra precaution being taken, we were not able
to gather in person with the people we are ministering to.
Nevertheless the Gospel was preached. As 1 John 3:18 says, “My
little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in
deed and in truth”. We never cease to be amazed at the faithfulness
of the Lord and the deep realization that the gospel is never on
lock-down. The Lord never ceases to reach out! And although we were
not able to meet in person the Word was still ministered to many
via What’s Up, online meetings, etc. We would like to share a few
reactions here and apologize for the limited space:
A FEW REACTIONS TO THE WORD SENT OUT THIS MONTH:
· Thank you Lord for teaching me to observe all things .My
attitude, doctrine, my worldview must line up with the word of God.
Amen!
· If humility is close to God's heart, and Jesus was meek and
lowly in heart, then we need to be the same. God gives grace unto
the humble, then l ask for this. And l receive this powerful Word.
· Wow this s so powerful!! As long we are in Christ we are new
creation!! Let the old us give room to the new us!! In our
weaknesses God gives us strength!
· What stood out for me is the fact that.. It is impossible to
be truly happy and find fulfillment in life as a selfish, self
centered person. Humility should be the goal and that l can learn
to live for something bigger than myself. We love Him because He first
loved us.. And we serve Him because He is Lord..
· It’s so true. It's not about us, but Jesus. Thank you for
the eye opener this morning.
· Amen, we need to humble ourselves and received the blessings
of the Lord, to be a blessing for our brothers and sisters, amen!
· Amen ... Lord your love makes every eye open and every heart
heal ...your word makes life seem very easy and healthy...thank you
Lord for showing us that humility is a key to a long life full of
blessings and peace. What an awesome lesson!
· Amen...we face a difficult century or time whereby our eyes
are only fixed on what we see, we only focus on success and other
luxury things...we seem to forget it all comes from God the Creator
of life.. that's why all things seem to be falling apart, it's
because people took God out of their life and put themselves first.
We need to rebuild the treasure God gave...that is eternal
life...People are also afraid to die but Jesus said he is going to
build a new life for us (those who believe in him) in heaven.
With love and appreciation,
Philip and Rita
